The idea of moving backward in order to move forward is so valuable. I have also been helped by the imagine of a bowstring, drawn back, away from the target, away from the goal, then held silent and still. This stillness, this drawing back, is necessary.
"take the sugars out of the bright flowers and feed the farthest reaches of our roots" - I love that. So beautiful. So true. Every artist needs a winter.
Dear sweet Nandi...we live so many life times..within this one ..all different..all feed each other in evolving your true space and self..so many selves..always a purpose whether quiet or outrageous..always growing..especially in the quiet dark of winter..true growth..
It does take courage to step away from the world. I'm hearing this from many people. It's partly seasonal but partly the pressure we've been under. We seem to need to learn over and over again that the art comes from inside, even if the audience is "out there."
